今回は、神戸市長田区長田神社近くの古民家をシェアハウスにリノベーションした「こみち」の見どころを紹介していきます！

「こみち」の名前
長田区の中心エリアに鎮座する長田神社。 商工業や産業の守護神であり、日々の生活の開運招福・厄除解除の神として、 市民からは「長田さん」と親しまれている「恵比寿」を祀った この神社の周辺には様々な商店が軒を連ねます。 そんな下町情緒あふれる場所に新しいシェアハウスができました。 昭和の雰囲気を残しつつ、新たにリノベーションした古民家シェアハウス「こみち」。 この「みち」には「未知、道、満ち」という意味があります。 外国人にとっての、日本という独特の文化・風土。 日本人にとっての、シェアハウスという生活。 たくさんの「未知」をこのハウスに集まる人たちに体験してほしい。 この古民家をきっかけとして他の日本家屋を再生させ、 日本の良い建築が後世に残っていくような小さな「道」筋となるように。 このハウスを過ごす中で、一人一人の「こころ(心)」が「満ち」てほしい。 そんな意味を込め、「こみち」と名付けました。 Nagata Shrine is located in the central area of Nagata Ward. It is the guardian deity of commerce and industry, and the god of good fortune and the release of bad luck in daily life. Ebisu," who is affectionately called "Nagata-san" by the citizens, is enshrined here. Various stores line the streets around this shrine. A new share house has been built in such a downtown location. Share house "Komichi" has been newly renovated while retaining the atmosphere of an old private house. The word "michi" means "unknown, path, fullness. For foreigners, the unique culture and climate of Japan. For Japanese people, the share house is a way of life. We want the people who gather in this house to experience many "unknowns. We hope that this old house will be a catalyst for the revitalization of other Japanese houses, and that the good architecture of Japan will be preserved for future generations. I hope that this house will be a small "path" that will lead to the revitalization of other Japanese houses and the preservation of good Japanese architecture for future generations. We hope that each person's "Kokoro (heart)" will be "filled" while spending time in this house. We named the house "Comichi" with such meaning.
昔ながらの古民家を活かす
日本の古民家には海外には見られない特徴がいくつもあります。それを敢えて残してリノベーションしました。
Japanese old houses have a number of features that cannot be found in other countries. We dared to leave them as they are and renovated them.
①庭園
日本では極楽浄土をイメージした庭園文化が平安時代から根付いており、諸行無常の世の中の中で、変わることのない自然を崇拝する習慣があります。
In Japan, the culture of gardens with images of the Pure Land of Paradise has taken root since the Heian period (794-1192), and there is a custom of worshipping the unchanging nature in a world where all things are impermanent.
②縁側
和風建築では玄関の他に、外から入れる経路として、勝手口や縁側があります。縁側は仏壇のある部屋に隣接している外に面した廊下のことです。仏事や結納の際に、まず家の仏様にご挨拶するために、縁側から家に入ることがあります。
In addition to the entrance, Japanese-style architecture has a kitchen door and an engawa (veranda) as a route to enter the house from the outside. Engawa is a corridor facing outside adjacent to the room where the Buddhist altar is located. During a Buddhist ceremony or a betrothal gift, one may enter the house from the veranda to first greet the family’s Buddhist deity.
③畳
日本古来の敷物で、江戸時代より前は身分の高い人の敷物として利用されてきました。フローリングに比べてメンテナンスは必要ですが、遮音や調質機能があり、また原材料のイ草の香りにはリラックス効果があります。
Rustiches are an ancient Japanese rug, and prior to the Edo period, they were used as carpets for people of high status. Although they require more maintenance than wooden flooring, they have sound insulation and quality control functions, and the fragrance of the rush grass used as a raw material has a relaxing effect.
④床の間
お客様と歓談する「客間」の一角に設けられることが多く、美術品や掛け軸、生け花などを置く場所として使われました。古民家は芸術があらかじめ生活に組み込まれた設計となっています。
Often set up in a corner of the “kyakuma” (guest room) for chatting with guests, it was used as a place to install works of art, hanging scrolls, ikebana, and other items. It is designed in such a way that art is integrated into daily life.
⑤すだれ
すだれは、竹でできており、竹には邪気を追い払う効果があるといわれています。すだれには目隠しはもちろん、外からの邪悪なものの侵入を防ぐという目的があります。
Sudare are made of bamboo, and it is said that bamboo has the effect of driving away evil spirits. The purpose of Sudare is not only to blindfold, but also to prevent evil from entering from the outside.
